Starr began making Bitchin’ Sauce in 2004 prompted by a newly acquired vegan diet. The sparky sixteen-year-old was unimpressed by vegan-friendly options which were highly-processed using inferior ingredients, so she set out to make a cold-processed, raw, creamy concoction. The result was undeniably delicious and totally bitchin’!
This Bitchin’ prototype quickly became
a family staple and flagship recipe for Starr’s budding personal chef business. Looking for consistent, flexible work so that
she could care for her one-year-old son, Starr brought the sauce to the local farmer’s market to sample to potential clients. The savory almond-based delight was dubbed “Bitchin’ Sauce”, as in “Golly gee Mister, that sauce sure is BITCHIN’, first-rate, wonderful, excellent!”
